The use of archives for medical purposes has given the Nun Study an exceptional depth. Availability of family history, health records, accounts of various ministry experience, situate the Nun Study in real life experiences, with data that can be verified and examined. Ms. Gari-Anne Patzwald, a staff person for the Nun Study invited S. Carol Marie Wildt, (pictured) an archivist for the School Sisters of Notre Dame to be her co-author. S. Carol Marie had taught Medical Ethics for almost twenty-five years and has a PhD in Philosophy.
