A Relationship Rooted in Cosmic Hope

Mother Almeda Schricker, SSND

Mother Almeda Schricker, SSND was General Superior from 1928 – 1955. She was strengthened and guided by Mary, Our Lady of Birkenstein, in relating to World War II. (See “Bombing of the Motherhouse,” under Living in Wartime. At Birkenstein, Mary is pictured with a large mantel that offers love and protection to everyone. Like Mother Theresa and Mother Caroline she saw Mary as the Superior of the congregation. An outline of her biography explores living a Marian life in wartime.
